Hot Apple Cinnamon Cider Recipe
It’s finally starting to feel like Fall! I have been so excited for this Fall. This year has had so many changes for all of us that I think after having an unusual summer I am ready for a change! As a child I hated Fall, because it marked the end of the summer. After living in upstate NY for a few years I’ve come to appreciate all the fun things that come with Fall from harvest decorations, beautiful foliage, apple picking, Halloween movies, baking to feeling thankful for full fall sweaters as I eat what I bake 😉 Moreover, I’ve learned that it’s the time of the year to embrace being cozy .I’ve got pumpkins on my steps, acorn squash baking in the oven, a cozy blanket to wrap myself in as I read– I only need one more thing to complete this setting: Hot Apple Cinnamon Cider!
My recipe is [mostly] homemade, super easy, and delicious. The recipe below is for 1 serving.
Ingredients (1 serving)
- 1 cup of apple cider (I used store bought-Zeigler’s Old Fashioned Apple Cider)
- Homemade Cinnamon Syrup (this will make about 5 servings)
1/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 TBS ground cinnamon - Homemade Whipped Cream (this will make about 2 cups)
1 cup heavy cream
2 TBS confectioner sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract - Caramel Sauce
Directions
- Heat apple cider on stove.
- Mix all cinnamon syrup ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil then remove from heat.
- Mix all whipped cream ingredients into a stand mixer and mix on medium speed until reaches desired consistency. Be careful not to overmix.
- Pour apple cider into a cup and mix in 3-4 TBS of cinnamon syrup.
- Dollop 2-3 spoonful’s of whipped cream on top.
- Drizzle on your favorite caramel sauce.
Voila! There you have it! Hope you enjoy this hot apple cinnamon cider doing one of your favorite fall activities!
