BBQ Orange Chicken Easy

This is a really simple and quick chicken dinner that you can make last minute! I love cooking for my husband, almost as much as I love watching his reaction as he takes a bite into one of my new recipes. This recipe was inspired by my husband’s two loves: BBQ potato chips and anything citrus flavored.

Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 4 thin chicken breasts (or 2 halved chicken breasts)
  • 1/2 cup orange marmalade
  • 1/2 BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 tsp rubbed sage
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Tenderize chicken with mallet.
  3. Place chicken in a baking pan.
  4. Sprinkle garlic and rubbed sage onto chicken.
  5. Mix BBQ sauce and orange marmalade in bowl.
  6. Spread BBQ marmalade mix on the top and sides of chicken breast.
  7. Bake for approximately 30 minutes.
  8. Broil for 3-5 minutes.

Enjoy! As you can see we enjoyed ours with broccoli and our own makeshift version of garlic/pesto bread. Super quick. The whole dinner took less than an hour to make. Viola!

Notes

  • I recommend tenderizing the chicken even if it is slightly thin. Chicken breasts can dry out, but this chicken came out pretty juicy!
  • I used Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce and Smuckers Orange Marmalade.
  • Honestly, I eyeball how much BBQ sauce and marmalade I used. I think they both come out to about 1/2 cup each. But if you prefer more or less flavor, feel free to adjust this step.
  • I used sage, because I think the taste compliments the orange taste well.
  • I LOVE the crispiness broiling adds, however, you could skip this step.
