Nicka K New York Nail Polish
In the summer I usually like having my toe nails painted in a bold color. What’s more bold than red? I love red. Red nails, red lips, red dresses– I remember in high school we were analyzing a paragraph in which a woman was being described and the author focused on her red lipstick. My English teacher asked what we thought the red lipstick symbolized and why the author honed in on this detail. I raised my hand and said “confidence”. I still feel this way. As I was looking through my basket of nail polish I saw my red Nicka K New York nail polish. This nail polish leaves…

Over-sized T-Shirt & Cut-off Shorts
This is a casual go-to of mine this summer when I’m feeling like being comfortable yet still trendy. Nothing I’m wearing in this photo is originally mine haha. The shorts are a hand-me-down from a friend and the shirt is my husband’s. I like this shirt because its thin and long, making it easy to tie a knot in front of it. When going out I’ll probably pair this with a pair of white sneakers or black sandals. You can’t see my accessories that well in the picture, but they are all gold colored. I like silver, but I feel like it has more of a subdued effect as an…

BBQ Orange Chicken Easy
This is a really simple and quick chicken dinner that you can make last minute! I love cooking for my husband, almost as much as I love watching his reaction as he takes a bite into one of my new recipes. This recipe was inspired by my husband’s two loves: BBQ potato chips and anything citrus flavored. Ingredients (4 servings) 4 thin chicken breasts (or 2 halved chicken breasts) 1/2 cup orange marmalade 1/2 BBQ sauce 1/2 tsp rubbed sage 1/4 tsp garlic powder Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Tenderize chicken with mallet. Place chicken in a baking pan. Sprinkle garlic and rubbed sage onto chicken. Mix BBQ…

Easy Chorizo Tacos
I love tacos all year long, but especially in the summer! Today I made a simple and tasty quick taco dinner. On a hot day less time in front of the stove is ideal. A meal that will taste like you put in the time is even more ideal! Ingredients (Servings 2) 2 chorizo sausages 1/2 TBS EVOO half of a small lime cilantro to taste 1/4 cup red onion diced half a large avocado cut into chunks 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese taco shells Directions Cut chorizo sausages so they look as though they are grounded. Heat EVOO in pan and then brown the chorizo. About 5-10 minutes.…
